Yorkshire tea prize!

Just would like to announce that I have came 2nd for the national cake week competition:D!

Thank you for everyone that who has voted for me!

The prize was a year's supply of yorkshire tea, teapot, 4 mugs, apron and tea towel!

haha... No need to buy tea for the rest and next year anymore!
Woohoo!!

 



A few cake orders ...

It was a mad Friday!

I have took 5 orders of cake all for Saturday.. think I've gone mad haha...!

So I end up making all the cakes and finished at 6am in the morning...

this was such an great experience hahaha!

It was chocolate sponge cakes with fresh cream and fruits in the middle and decorated with fresh whipped cream :)

New explore - Mrs Athas cafe!

I have found another favourite cafe!

This time, it is in Leeds!
I am actually in love with the latte arts that they make for all their coffees.

I have ordered a cup of latte today, and got to say... it was the best latte I ever had.
I just love the milk that they use!

Although, one thing that I am concern about is their coffee is not hot enough :(!
but overall.. its amazing!
They also do different cakes everyday I think?! This is what I have heard from my friend.

I have tried their brownies out and it is pretty good. Not too sweet, just what I like :P

hehe! I love the theme of their cafe too!

This cafe is called "Mrs Athas". It is based in City centre of Leeds, next to little tokyo japanese restaurant. Worth a try!

 

It has always been my dream to open up my own cafe in the future, and make different cakes and latte art everyday. Also to serve all my customers with my real heart!
I hope one day.. this dream will come true!

Fresh strawberries and cream macarons recipe!

For my first practical in my tech lesson, I have decided to make fresh strawberries and cream macarons!
I am not a big fan of macarons, as I always think that they are too sweet due to the buttercream fillings. So I have decided to try something different and found this recipe, using fresh strawberries and fresh whipped cream as the filling instead! It is also less fat and calories :D!

 

Baked Alaska

It was a really crap day...

So I thought I will cheer myself up with some sweets..

Baked alaska.

 

This is basically a dessert of layering up sponge cakes and ice cream and then cover it with meringue followed by blow torching the meringue to give it a burnt look.

Fast, easy and nom!

:)

 

I have chosen to use chocolate sponge and oreo ice cream this time!

I have also added some brandy into the meringue to get myself drunk!

jokes haha! just to add some flavouring :P
